What were the costs and benefits of the new "information age" economy?

the loss of millions of jobs that were made redundant. The fastest disappearing jobs continue to be file clerks, receptionists, and others that did the work that much of technology now does. Obviously it also affected the Post Office and other large institutions.|||The downside is we are no longer a country that produces things of value that last. We provide services. Not a good foundation.|||One major cost, is that there is just as just misinformation as there is information. It is up the the individual interpreting the information to decide which is what. As a result, there is a great deal of people operating on misinformation.
